  INTRODUCTION TO GEOLOGY


What is geology?

           Geology is the science which devoted to the study of the earth.  It deals with all the features of the earth's surface and with the origin, composition ,structure and inhabitants of the earth.
      

Branches of Geology:

Physical Geology:

       Physical geology is concerned with the work of natural process with the work of natural processses which bring about changes upon the earth's surface.paleontology

Paleontology:

       Paleontology is the the science of fossils of ancient life forms and their evolution.

Stratigraphy:

       Stratigraphy is the science of the description ,correlation an classsification of strata in sedimentary rocks including the interpretation of the depositional environments of those strata.

Structural geology:

      Structural geology is branch of geology deals with the study of structure of rocks in earth's crust.

Petrology:

      The discussion of the different kinds of rocks is known as petrology. It deals with the study of composition,structure,and origin of rocks. 

Minerarology:

       Minearlogy includes the study of mineral composition, structure, appearance, stability, occurrence and association.

Economic Geology:

       The economic geology deal with the study of minerals, ores and fossils fuels of economic importance.

Mining Geology:

      This branch of geology is concerned with the study of application of geology to mining engineering 

Applied Geology:

      The term Applied geology refers to the use of geology to solve, or aid in solving. human problems
in which geolological factors play a part. The problems may be economic, social,political or cultural in origin.

Engineering Geology:

      The engineering Geology includes the study of applicance includes the study of application of geology to civil engineering.


The branches of geology listed above was arranged under the basis of learning the subject efficiently. We can understand Geology well by learning concepts in the order mentioned in our blog it will be more helpful. What does a Geologist do?

       A Geologist is a scientist who studies the solid, liquid and gaseous matter that constitutes the earth and other terristial planets, as well as the processes that shape them. Geologist usually study geology although backgrounds in physics, chemistry, biology, and other science are useful.

  Origin of the Universe:           Before discussing how the solar system formed we have to know about the origin of the universe. The origin of universe is the origin of everything, multiple scientific theories and creation myths from around the world have try to explain it’s mysterious genesis.
